Apache Mirae - Java ME Web Services

Mirae is “an open source implementation of jsr172, which provides a capability of accessing web services to the mobile platform. This project provides a stub compiler that creates all the code J2ME applications need to execute simple programmatic calls to an existing Web service.”

PeerBox Mobile

PeerBox is a peer-to-peer file sharing application for the next generation mobile devices. PeerBox allows searching for files in open P2P networks, downloading the files onto the phone and sharing the files with other users.

OpenDMTP Project

OpenDMTP (Open Device Monitoring and Tracking Protocol) is a protocol and framework that allows communications with small devices (mobile phones, PDA’s, and other high-latency/low-bandwidth devices), especially geared towards the transmission of GPS, temperature, and other remote monitoring information. The OpenDMTP projects provides software reference implementations for using the OpenDMTP protocol.

The OpenDMTP J2ME client reference implementation is now available for providing GPS tracking on your Palm Treo 650 Smartphone.

CellularBASIC

CellularBASIC is an open source BASIC Interpreter for Java ME devices. Currently it is compatible with CLDC 1.1/MIDP 2.0.

Cell Phone Data Eraser

The Cell Phone Data Eraser site gives you detailed instructions to remove personal information like contact names and phone numbers from your cell phone. Not all the phones in the market are included. But it is a nice site to check before you throw away your old phone.
