eRCP requires a J2ME CDC environment since it uses JNI, Java reflection and custom classloaders that are not possible in the vastly more common CLDC/MIDP environments.

Cell Phone Vending Machine

Motorola is testing cell phone vending machines. I am not sure this idea will fly or not. Vending machines might be good for low-end, pre-paid phones, or cell phone accessories. I like the Nokia Store idea for high-end phones. I think it is the best way to let customers touch and feel a personal media device before making purchase decision.
