PC World lists top 10 Cell Phone-PDAs. Blackberry Curve is the number one. iPhone is on the 5th place.

The title of this list should be changed to “Top 10 Smart Phones with full Qwerty Keypad in US” ;) All the phones in that list have full Qwerty hardware keypad, with iPhone as an exception.

“Celltop Usability Worse Than WAP”

This is an interesting research report: Usable Products Company gathered user reactions and experiences toward mobile widgets, which were compared by usability participants to WAP and the phone’s native user interface. The conclusion is that Celltop is less usable than WAP.

Celltop is offered by AllTel based on Qualcomm’s uiOne technology. Designed by frog design, it won People’s Choice Award in BREW 2007 conference. I did play with CellTop for a while. The UI is very innovative.

But people do tend to design “cool” or “flashy” user interface and ignore usability issues. The 3D grid menu thing on LG Fusic phone is a perfect example.
