Nintendo Wii style games and apps for mobile

GestureTek Mobile

I played with it a little bit on a FOMA handset. I am not sure if it is the FOMA 904i mentioned in this article. Those games could be very addictive like Nintendo Wii games - I am working on the Call of Duty 3 (Wii) by the way ;)

FOMA is the not very known sibling of UIQ and S60, which is another UI package on top of Symbian OS.

This is quite good work by GestureTek, but SonyEricsson is now including an accelometer in their new phones () and a Java API (JSR 256) to access it. I would suspect this is much more accurate than the GestureTek way :)

Cool, thanks for the link, Frank. I read the JP8 press release before but did not notice the JSR 256 part.

Will Gesturetek’s motion recognition software be compatible with any type of handset?
    - i-mode Doja
    - WAP Java
    - Open OS
    - Windows mobile
    - Blackberry
    - …

It is based on phone camera and some motion detection algorithm. So it should be able to ported to any other handsets as long as there is decent camera API. That is my opinion.

It runs on some BREW handsets very well.
